The Beta is actual set to run from April 18, to May 1, 2016. Early access will be given to Gears of War Ultimate owners who have played before April 11th on the 18th via download codes from Xbox One messages so keep your eyes open for them. In a recent interview with Game Informer Rod Ferrgusson mention a couple of interesting tid bite about the game. I. E. The game running at 30 fps during split screen mode online. Check out the full interview here:

If your anything like me you've probably fallen off the Gears wagon sometime ago. I've got three simple tips to help you get your competive back.

1.) Play Gears of War: As simple as it sounds play gears! Playing through the campaign of any entry in the series should help jog your muscle memory with the fundamentals of gameplay. The developers have stated that the Gears4 mechanics is buildt upon Gears 3 and that th tempo of the campaign will favor Gears 1 with multiplayer being 60 fps so playing Gears 3 and Ulitmate Edition such put you where you need to be by casually and competive ply.

2.) Controls: Default controls and control schemes will only take you so far. I can't stress this enough. I used to get pretty good mileage out of stock controls but after I purchased the Elite I started to notice more and more how unresponsive the stock XBox One(and PS4) controls are. By no means am I saying its a necessity but if you want to beat the best using the best tools will only aid you.

3.) Do your research: There are several sources on the internet that are full of tactics and strategies of how to plays gears meanly YouTube. The ESL has a ton of videos on the pro Gears tournament they just covered so their channel would be a great source for past and future content to dissect in service of leveling your game even though I had a lot of issues with the plays the teams were using in the finals.
